Clay Roofing Tiles (CRTS)
Complete clay roofing tile systems that combine timeless aesthetics with extreme durability — French, Roman and Dutch profiles plus ridge capping, fired above 1,000 °C for a hard, dense, weather-resistant finish that keeps its colour for decades.
Tile Profiles
French Tiles
Superior water shedding with a classic, clean look and interlocking grooves.
Roman Tiles
The perfect “Old World” Mediterranean finish.
Dutch Tiles
An elegant S-curve profile for a unique, characterful texture.
Ridge Capping
High-durability finishing pieces that ensure a leak-proof peak.
Why Clay Roofing?
Longevity
A well-installed system lasts 75–100+ years, often outliving the building itself.
Thermal Mass
High thermal mass absorbs heat by day and releases it slowly at night, cutting cooling costs.
Fire Resistance
Clay is non-combustible and typically carries a Class A fire rating.
Low Maintenance
Does not rot, resists insects and does not decay in salty coastal air — fully recyclable.
Technical Considerations
- Weight: clay tiles are heavy (600–1,500 lbs per square); the structural frame must support the load.
- Slope: recommended for roof pitches of 4:12 or greater; lower slopes need double-underlayment.
- Firing: baked above 1,000 °C so the clay vitrifies into a hard, dense, water-resistant tile.
- Care: annual inspection, keep valleys and gutters clear, avoid high-pressure washing.
